Suckerpunch Theatre
Plays that pack a punch.
Welcome.
We are a new theatre company, planning to tour regional Victoria and beyond, with funny, moving, and dramatic plays that entertain and speak to the heart. And if our plays can also make communities speak to each other - about issues that affect us all both individually and as a community, that’s even better.
Our first play to tour in 2022 is ’The Savages of Wirramai”, directed by Kevin Summers. With a cast of six talented and experienced actors, including the legendary Don Bridges, we’re tremendously excited at the prospect of bringing this play to the north east of the state. The tour will be covering Shepparton, south through the Macedon/Bendigo region, Mornington Peninsula, and the Wedge Theatre in Sale. Opening at La Mama in 2014, ‘The Savages of Wirramai’ received four and five stars from Artshub and Theatrepeople. See below for more information and reviews. A Q and A session will also be provided on request, for those wanting to explore the themes of this play afterwards.
Please get in touch if you are interested in your town being part of this exceptional season, and for future audiences wherever you may be - we look forward to meeting you soon.
Best,
Sandy Fairthorne, and the cast and crew
